Kate Middleton made an unusual comment about her cancer journey at the Christmas Carol Service

"Obviously, it's the season to be frank.

At the 4th annual "Together at Christmas" Carol Service at Westminster Abbey on Friday night, Kate Middleton made a rare comment about her cancer journey.

The Carol Service has been an important event for the Princess of Wales since its debut in 2021 and is one of the biggest events the royal family has attended since announcing that they have completed chemotherapy on 9 May 1.

Kate's candid moment about her health came during a chat with Christmas performer Paloma Faith alongside the pop star.

According to people, when Kate was asked about her health, she explained, "I didn't know this year was going to be the year I had now."

"Unplanned," Faith replied, nodding in agreement with the royal family, prompting them to repeat "unplanned."

"But a lot of people have been through such a difficult time this year and I think there are a lot of people here today," Kate added.

This is not the first time Kate has spoken publicly about her cancer journey.

"The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. As you know, life could change in a moment, and we had to find a way to navigate the stormy seas and unknown paths," she revealed when she announced on May 9 that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment. "The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially for those closest to you. With humility, it also confronts your own vulnerability and, thereby, brings an all-new perspective, in a way you've never thought of before."

She said at the time that experience reminded her and her husband, Prince William, that "the simple and heavy love and love of life that many of us often take for granted" and that she had entered this "new stage of recovery with a new sense of hope and appreciation of life.""
