Prince William is said to still be “very, very angry” about the rift between the royals, but Kate Middleton wants “reconciliation”.

The royal family has had a difficult year, as King Charles and Queen Kate have both been diagnosed with cancer and are undergoing treatment for it. Now, royal experts claim that Kate Middleton is ready to repair the ongoing royal rift, but Prince William is a bit resistant to the idea.

In an interview on The Sun's “Royal Exclusive” show, Vanity Fair's royal correspondent Katie Nicole opened up about the Prince and Princess of Wales' differences of opinion. Nicole claimed, “I think the Prince is very, very angry, upset, and feels betrayed.” But she also suggested that Princess Kate may be seeking her family's forgiveness.

“Maybe the Crown Princess is still open to some form of reconciliation,” Nicole explained. 'I think it's too early to tell. But I think when you go through something like a cancer diagnosis, when you go through a journey like she went through, when you face your own mortality, you realize that life is short.” Nicole then continued. It's far too short for rifts and family feuds.”

Nicole also suggested that overcoming the royal rift is crucial to the public perception of the royal family. Said the royal expert, “Because I think we see the royal family as a symbol of unity.”

According to Nicole, the holiday season is the perfect time for the Crown Prince and Princess to encourage healing. 'This will be the sixth Christmas without Harry participating,' she said. 'I think that's important. There may be a danger of people making comments on social media that talk about togetherness, talk about empathy, talk about what's going on in their own families, and that sort of thing.'

After all, says Nicole, the Crown Princess is a “role model” of sorts. 'I think she is someone who has always set an example. [I was talking to a source close to the Princess and William, and she said, 'Don't give up hope, there are always opportunities.'
