Prince William Reveals Surprisingly Modest Royal Christmas Plans

When the British royal family thinks of Christmas, lavish gifts, black-tie dinners, and the most spectacular decorations imaginable come to mind. For Prince William, however, his Christmas wish is a bit simpler, as he told invited guests at a military Christmas party on Tuesday, December 10.

According to The Sun, the prince said his hopes for the season are very modest: “To take long walks with the family dog as we spend the Christmas period in Norfolk.”

The prince and his wife welcomed a black cocker spaniel named Aura into their family in 2020, shortly before their dog Lupo passed away. Aura was given to the Welsh family by Princess Kate's dog-loving brother, James Middleton, who breeds cocker spaniels.

Along with the Royal family spending Christmas strolling at their Sandringham mansion, Prince William revealed that he still has a lot of shopping and preparing to do for the holiday season. 'I mean, am I ready for Christmas? ...... No, I'm not ready,” he told guests at the Mercian Regiment's 1st Battalion Christmas event.

According to The Sun, the Prince of Wales told another table that he was looking forward to Christmas “in one room” with his 45 family members, who are “normally scattered.”

Whether that means Prince Andrew remains to be seen, but royal expert Jenny Bond recently suggested that it might be “easier” for the disgraced Duke of York to celebrate his Christmas with Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, and their families, “OK !” he tweeted to ”OK!

Prince William's visit to the 1st Battalion, Mercian Regiment followed two festive events last week: on December 6, Prince William invited Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte to Princess Kate's annual Together at Christmas concert and spread cheer by serving a holiday lunch at The Passage, a charity that supports the homeless.
