Prince Harry's “despair” at online trolls is understandable, says royal expert

Last week, Prince Harry attended The New York Times 2024 DealBook Summit, where he addressed divorce rumors regarding his wife Meghan Markle. And now a royal expert has opined that it is an understandable decision for the Duke of Sussex to express his frustration with online trolls who seek to harm his family.

“Harry is stubborn,” former BBC royal correspondent Jenny Bond told OK! 'Harry is stubborn. He is very protective of his wife and children, and who can blame him?”

She said.

When it comes to protecting his family from online trolls, Bond believes Prince Harry is doing the right thing. He said, “Prince Harry is a media ...... I empathize with his despair, especially with social media and the trolls peddling unsourced nonsensical crap about his marriage,” she told the magazine.

After all, Prince Harry and Meghan's marriage is no one else's business, and the public has no real idea what their lives are really like. 'He says he is happy. 'I believe him. Let's not try to create problems in a marriage we know nothing about.'

Speaking to DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin at the New York Summit on December 4, Harry called the constant speculation about marriage “absolutely not a good thing.” Apparently we've bought or moved house 10 or 12 times. I think we've been divorced 10 to 12 times. So I'm like, “What?” I'm like, “What?

The Duke of Sussex also understands that rumors can move quickly. 'It's hard to keep up, but that's why I ignore them,' he said at the summit. 'The people I feel most sorry for are the trolls.' Explaining why, Harry said, “Their hopes just build and build and build, and it's like, ‘Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah,’ and it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. I genuinely do.”
