Pamela Anderson Says “The Last Showgirls” Healed Hollywood Trauma
Pamela Anderson went through hell early in her Hollywood career. The actress, best known for her iconic TV series Baywatch, was the center of the tabloids in the 1990s and early 2000s, all of which had a profound impact on her life. In many ways, what she went through was traumatic.
But thanks to her role in Gia Coppola's new film, “The Last Showgirl,” Anderson proved to herself how capable she is and how far she has come since those days.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Anderson, along with co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, spoke candidly about how long it took him to heal and come back to himself from everything he experienced in Hollywood.
When asked how he has continued his career, Anderson was candid. 'I would go home and make pickles and jam in the garden. I just wanted to remember who I was.”
She added that her experience on “The Last Showgirls” was very healing for her after a tough time in Hollywood, explaining that “every project I work on heals a part of me.”
For Anderson, “The Last Showgirls” was all that and more. For Anderson, “The Last Showgirl” was all of that and more.
And as her performance in The Last Showgirl proves (this particular writer has already seen it!) ), Anderson shines as Shelley, giving the aging showgirl the complexity and nuance that all women deserve.
“Every one of us wishes we could be. And I think that's something we both have outgrown.”
Anderson continued, “I didn't know I was going to get this opportunity, so when I got it, I grabbed it by the throat.” As an actress, she believes that she is “at her best when she is working hard” and that “not being in something adds drama to my life.”
As for the accolades and attention she is getting for her reinstatement, she said, “I'm really just eating. I should be."
