Royal fans were overjoyed when Princess Kate spent time interacting with people in the crowd after church at Sandringham on Christmas Day. Now, people on social media are comparing Kate Middleton to Princess Diana.

Crowds gathered outside St. Mary Magdalen Church in Sandringham to meet members of the royal family. At one point, the Crown Princess joked that she had “lost” her family because she had spent so much time talking to those closest to her. Prince Charles's “hot eqeery,” Johnny Thompson, even had to help Kate carry all the flowers she received from her fans.

After one royal fan shared a compilation video of the royal family at Sandringham, other X-users responded to Princess Kate's willingness to speak to anyone in the crowd. One person named Princess Kate the “People's Princess.” This was the nickname given to Princess Diana following her tragic death in 1997. Another person responded, “That sounds like something Princess Diana would have done.”

Yet another fan wrote that she was “a very thoughtful Princess of Wales,” while others called her “lovely” and “caring. Summarizing the uplifting mood surrounding Princess Kate's Christmas Day appearance, one person wrote to X: “Princess Wales is a lovely girl. During her Christmas Day walk, the princess opened up to royal fans about her health following her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

After one royal fan called Kate “an inspiration to all patients,” the princess replied, “The number of people who have written in this year is extraordinary, and I think cancer really touches a lot of families,” Hello! magazine reported. The royal fan revealed that she is active in a cancer organization, to which Kate responded, “People like you are out there doing the hard work. I'm very grateful,” she replied.

Another royal fan told Kate how much the public loves her and said, “We all support you, never forget that.” The princess reportedly replied, “Thank you, that's very sweet, it's nice to see you.”
