New year, new Miley Cyrus? Or is it a new album cycle?' In a new Instagram post on Monday, December 23, the eternal actress and singer shared her hopeful year-end spirit and gave a little preview of what's to come.

Reclining on a chair in a floor-length leather dress, the singer hinted at the title of her upcoming album.

“HAPPY HOLIDAYS & NEW YEAR,” the post began.

“It's bittersweet to say goodbye to a year that has been so good to me, but I look forward to starting over again.”

Cyrus continued, adding: “This is one of my favorite parts of not only the creative process, but also what life has chosen to teach me. I like to go all out in everything I do. I give it my all. For everything to come to an end, to move forward, to start anew.”

“Sometimes it's heartbreaking,” she explained. I'm grateful to everyone who has made this past year so special.”

For fans of the singer, the phrase “something beautiful” will likely ring alarm bells.

The new album will include a collaboration with her boyfriend, Max Morand, drummer for the rock band Liily. And she has a long history of working with people she cares about.

“I've always worked with my father. That's how me and my ex-husband [Liam Hemsworth] met,” she told Harper's Bazaar last month. 'I've always worked with people I love. And Max inspires me a lot.” [The album is called a “visual album” as much as a musical one, and was inspired by Beyoncé, her collaborator on II Most Wanted.

“What was important to me was that every song had these healing sonic properties. Whether the songs are about destruction, heartbreak, or death, they are presented in a beautiful way. They are shadows, they are charcoals, they are shadows.” Without highlights and contrasts, there would be no painting.”

She further compared her ambitions to another iconic album: Pink Floyd's The Wall. Pink Floyd's The Wall is an album that she and her brother have long loved.
