Why Prince Andreu reportedly “can't bring himself to go” to walk Queen Elizabeth's corgi.

Prince Andrew had a tough time in 2024. After having to fight to remain in the Royal Lodge he had called home for decades, Andrew found himself in the middle of an international scandal involving alleged Chinese spies. After declining to attend King Charles' pre-Christmas luncheon at Buckingham Palace and canceling plans to spend the vacations in Sandringham, Lord York is reportedly feeling sad and withdrawn.

“He is so depressed and demoralized that he can't even muster the energy to take his dog for a walk,” a so-called “source” told The Sun. 'He used to do it regularly, but these days he doesn't even have the energy to go out.'

After Queen Elizabeth's death in September 2022, she left her two corgis, Muick and Sandy, to her son Prince Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. At the time, The Guardian reported that Queen Elizabeth was very fond of Ferguson and that she and Andrew still live at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. The former couple's home was close to the late monarch's residence at Windsor Castle, where they reportedly spent much of their time together.

Just last week, it was reported that Prince Andrew was considering leaving the UK, as was Prince Harry. 'Prince Andrew is fed up with being branded a pariah in the British media and is seriously considering moving to the United Arab Emirates or Bahrain,' a source close to the prince told the Daily Beast. 'If he decides to leave the U.K. like Harry did, none of us would blame him. He can't do anything here anymore; he can't leave his home or his job.”

Regarding the possibility of relocation, another friend of the Duke of York told the magazine, “Andrew has vast contacts in the Middle East and may have a meaningful life there. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's had enough of the regime's checks and balances.”
