Jennifer Lopez's “Cowgirl” Fit Proves 2024 Barrel-Leg Jeans Trend Isn't Going Anywhere in the New Year
While on vacation in Aspen, Jennifer Lopez put her own spin on the fashion trend of western dressing. The pop star started her own new look with a Fair Isle sweater and felt cowboy hat. I call it: “Snow Cowgirl”
On Sunday, December 29, Lopez stepped out looking like a walking mood board. She wore a cream-colored turtleneck sweater and a Kemo Sabe 10-gallon hat. From there, Lopez went rustic, topping off her winter white with a navy blue barn jacket (a stable staple loved by horsewomen like Kendall Jenner and Queen Elizabeth).
For the bottom, the “Love Don't Cost a Thing” singer opted for another Western trend, wearing 2024's controversial barrel-leg jeans. Jenny from the Block looked like a bona fide cowgirl in Brunello Cucinelli camel hiking boots and bow-leg pants.
Compared to the space cowboy aesthetic popularized by Beyoncé, Lopez's look was a down-to-earth take on the trend. Function-first materials like denim, canvas, wool, and suede take center stage, without metallics or over-the-top sparkle.
Her's is a truer representation of what a Colorado ranch hand would wear in the cold of winter, but Lopez was still able to incorporate her usual luxury. Seasonal pieces like fur-lined parkas and fluffy Yeti boots were styled with high-end accessories like Chanel earrings and Princess Diana's beloved $5,500 designer handbag.
Horsegirls, take note.
