We all know that marriage isn't easy - even if we've only heard others say so - but Haley Bieber (open in new tab) really went off the deep end when she and husband Justin first got married.

The model and singer recently spoke candidly about a truly trying time during a joint appearance on the "In Good Faith with Chelsea & Judah Smith" podcast (opens in new tab).

"I remember calling [my mother] a few times. One time [when I was in Brooklyn], I called my mom in tears. I said, 'If I'm going to be like this for the rest of my life, I'm not going to make it,'" Haley said (via Us Weekly (opens in new tab)). And I remember she was very calm on the phone and was like, 'It will pass, you are fine, he is healthy, we are here for you.'"

She added: "I was like, 'I'm not going to let you go. I made a decision. I have loved this man for a long time. I would never do that to him."

She added: "I'm not going to do that to him.

Justin was going through a particularly difficult time and was suffering quite badly emotionally (open in new tab). 'Imagine giving up on someone at the worst time in their life. 'I'm not that type of person. So I was going to do my best, no matter what the outcome. It was really hard. ...... There were literally days when I was like, 'I don't know if he's going to be okay.' Deep down inside, I thought, 'He's going to be okay. I just didn't know how long it would take."

Now, the singer is better and their relationship has been able to grow. "I think it was just time to let things heal," Justin said, "We show up for each other every day and are consistent, I was seeing that she wasn't going anywhere. But I saw her show up and be there for me every day, over and over again." And it made our relationship more solid, it made our relationship more solid."

The Biebers married in 2018 and are not about to give up on each other.
