The upcoming memoir is the result of a seven-figure deal with Flatiron Books, an imprint of publisher Macmillan, and "will be a candid, self-aware book told with his trademark humor," according to Deadline (opens in new tab).

Megan Lynch, Perry's editor on the project and publisher of Flatiron Books, said, "We need humor, we need catharsis, we need to agree on something. Matthew's books have the unparalleled potential to bring people together.
