Princess Diana is also "overjoyed" with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new life, experts say.

The ones that got away Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their big royal abdication (opens in new tab) in January 2020, eventually moving to California with their son Archie (opens in new tab) and in June 2021, Lilibet (opens in new tab) in the US. She will be welcomed in the United States in June 2021. According to one royal biographer, the Duke of Sussex's late mother, Princess Diana (open in new tab), would approve of her son's decision. [Andrew Morton told Us Weekly (opens in new tab), "She would be overjoyed. 'She'll be over the moon. She would applaud seeing Harry make himself and Meghan an independent humanitarian, no matter what the palace says."

Since leaving the UK, the Sussexes have gotten behind a variety of different causes, including promoting COVID-19 vaccination (open in new tab), education (open in new tab), and paid parental leave in the US (open in new tab).

Morton, author of Meghan and the Unmasking of the Monarchy (open in new tab), also speculated that Prince Charles (open in new tab) might be frantically bracing himself for the release of Prince Harry's memoir (open in new tab). Morton added, "If I were Prince Charles, I would find a place to hide under a pile of coats." Morton added, "If I were Prince Charles, I would look for a pile of coats to hide under."

For Morton, if there is bad blood between the Prince of Wales and his youngest son (and it certainly seems there is (opens in new tab)), the Duke would not be shy about making it public. Says the expert, "The one thing you can say about Harry is that if you ask him a straight question, he'll give you a straight answer."

A year before its scheduled release date, the royal memoir has already generated considerable controversy (opens in new tab).
