Cher opens up about her choice of dating younger men

Cher, the OG, opened up about her decision to date younger men. The music icon explained during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Wednesday, May 1, "The reason I date young men is because men my age or older, well, they're all dead now, but they used to be always afraid to approach me. And only young men ......."

"They are ......."

"They're bold," singer and host Jennifer Hudson interjected.

"Yeah, they were raised by women like me!"

"I was raised by a woman like me! Cher replied.

For those who may not know, Cher is currently dating Alexander "AE" Edwards, a 38-year-old music company executive. Scherr is 77 years old.

Shortly after Cher and Edwards' relationship became public, she received (sadly, predictably) public backlash and animosity from some fans and online commentators. In response, Cher wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), "Love knows no math.

In the comments section of another social media post honoring her young lover, Cher told fans that Edwards treated her like a "queen" and that "everyone" in the family met Edwards, People also reported.

Other fans sent social media points expressing concern about Cher's new relationship, one of which suggested unfaithfulness in Edwards' past relationships, writing, "I've been a fan for so long that I immediately suspect his intentions towards you." (Edwards was in a relationship with model and influencer Amber Rose for three years before they broke up. Rose accused Edwards of cheating on her repeatedly. Edwards eventually admitted to cheating and said he was "caught" on Instagram Live.)

"As we all know ...... I was not born yesterday," Cher wrote to another fan. 'What I know for sure is that there are no guarantees. Anytime I choose to do something, I take a chance. I have always taken chances.

"I am not defending us," she wrote in a follow-up tweet. 'It doesn't matter that we are happy and not bothering anyone.'
