Kate Middleton “very thankful” after cancer diagnosis, and comments on her health in a rare moment of clarity.
Royal fans were overjoyed to greet Princess Kate on Christmas Day, and the princess was almost surrounded by a crowd. At one point, Princess Kate joked that she had “lost” her family because she spent too much time talking to people close to her. Kate also made some unusual comments about her health following her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
After the royal family's annual Christmas church service, Kate Middleton met with royal fans, one of whom called her “an inspiration to all patients.” As “Hello! magazine reported, the princess said, “The number of people who have written to me this year is extraordinary.
The Princess of Wales also thanked a fan who revealed that she works for a cancer organization, saying, “I'm so grateful. I am very grateful.”
According to the outlet, another royal fan told Kate, “We are all rooting for you, never forget that.” The princess reportedly replied, “Thank you, that's very sweet, it's nice to see you.”
Princess Kate also spoke with 73-year-old Karen McLean, who shared that she has lived with cancer for 20 years. 'We just talked a little bit about cancer,' she said. I had met the King before. He said to me, 'I remember you. How many years ago was that?'
Maclean said she believes Kate and Charles look “actually very well, given what they're going through.” She also said that after the hug, the princess said, “What an honor.”
While Kate's arrival at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Sandringham on Christmas Day appeared to go smoothly, body language experts suggested that the royal family may have had at least one “moment of concern.”
Body language expert Judy James told the Daily Mail that Princess Kate appeared to have “an expression without a smile” after church. This allegedly happened when Princess Kate became separated from her husband, Prince William, and was probably due to “fatigue or a moment of concern,” James said. She looked sideways at William and exchanged a look that was accompanied by an “ignited smile.” In other words, her expression immediately responded to his smile with a broad smile of her own. James describes this moment as “perhaps the greatest body language cue in the present relationship.”
