Samsung Makes Home Workouts Even Easier
Health and fitness tracking app Samsung Health has been around since 2012, but with the recent addition of Samsung Smart TV to the Health platform, working out at home just got even easier. Designed to make your fitness and wellness journey (opens in new tab) as simple as possible, the Samsung Health platform is also available for iPhone, Google Phone, and Android, but now your TV (or TVs!) is included. With your Samsung Smart TV, you can use the free app to workout, meditate, etc. During the COVID-19 quarantine period, it's a great opportunity to try a new way to stay healthy" let your gym membership lapse. (Also, it's free!)
Here's how it works: sync the Samsung Health app with your watch, phone, and TV (you'll need a Samsung Smart TV, among others), and the TV will tell you calming sleep stories, wake you up with sunrise meditations, and program you to do everything from barre to boxing to Program it to give you a workout. At a time when most of us are more at home than ever - U.S. businesses are slowly opening for business after extended shutdowns, while many of us are still working, eating, and exercising at home while practicing social distancing - this platform will help you through a famously turbulent year to make it a little easier to maintain your mental and physical health.
You can also get a free 28-day workout plan through the Jillian Michaels Fitness app (opens in a new tab). The app is available on the Health platform, along with popular wellness apps such as Calm, barre3, and Obé. 'It's hard to be socially distanced and have your routine completely derailed,' Michaels told Marie Claire about his app.
"Having a fitness routine that keeps you moving in these situations does wonders for your mood, energy, etc."
And if you're worried about not having a home gym or a lot of workout gear, don't sweat it (pun intended)-Michaels says that's not necessary. 'You can do a very effective workout with just your body weight. And there are many great exercises you can do with a simple hand towel or chair," she says. 'Just find a place where you have enough space to move around and have some simple equipment close at hand. You don't need fancy equipment to get a great workout."
