'Baby Girl' Director Says Nicole Kidman Breast Scene Happened in Real Life
Halina Lane's erotic thriller “Baby Girl” has a scene in which Nicole Kidman drinks a glass of milk while looking directly at Harris Dickinson in a bar. It's a wild, erotic, thrilling moment and ...... And that's what happened to Ryen in real life as well.
In a new interview with W magazine, the director reveals that the scene was actually drawn from her own life, an encounter with a famous Belgian actor “much, much younger” than her.
The “Body, Body, Body” director, who was also a successful stage actress in her native Holland before becoming a director, described the situation as something that happened after a show in her 30s. She was having a drink with a colleague at a bar when the aforementioned actor offered her a large glass of milk.
So what did she do, she explained to W. “I drank it and he just walked out. I thought that was very sensual. And I thought it was very funny.”
This moment is full of erotic and sensual nuances, even if there is no sex at all, which makes the awkwardness all the more fascinating. Because that is what sex is. It is (for the most part) different from the kind of sex portrayed in movies and on TV. This is also why she calls the film a counter-narrative to other major works in the genre, such as Eyes Wide Shut.
“I wanted these scenes to be incredibly hot, steamy, and fun. Sexuality is stop-and-go; it's never going to be like the glamour scenes in 90s Hollywood movies. It's not like that.”
“Sex is not about two bodies colliding,” she later added. And I think most people tend to agree. That's what makes this film, which doesn't have that much actual sex, so ridiculously sexy.
