Prince Charles' “Hot Equerry” makes a surprise appearance at Christmas in Sandringham, sending royal fans into a frenzy.
Commander Johnny Thompson became an unexpected star at King Charles' coronation in May 2023 because he was “really, really, ridiculously good-looking.” Unfortunately, Thompson did not enjoy the attention and instead transitioned to a behind-the-scenes role in the Royal Family. However, royal fans were delighted to see Thompson when he reappeared on Christmas Day to attend church at Sandringham.
Thompson, dubbed King Charles' “Hot Equerry,” offered a “helping hand” to Kate Middleton after the royal Christmas service, Geo News reported. According to the media outlet, Thompson helped Princess Kate carry flowers and gifts she had received from the crowd, and stood near her throughout the event.
In October, the London Times reported that Commander Thompson had proposed to his girlfriend, Olivia Lewis, and that they had decided to marry. In a statement announcing the news, it was revealed that the engagement was between “Commander Johnny Thompson, son of Mr and Mrs Alan Thompson of Morpeth, Northumberland, and Olivia Rose, daughter of Mr and Mrs Simon Lewis OBE of Primrose Hill, London.”
Kate Middleton had her work cut out for her on Christmas Day as a large crowd of fans gathered outside St. Mary Magdalen Church in Sandringham to meet her. Royal fans were apparently eager to talk about the recent health of Princess Kate Middleton, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. As “Hello! magazine reported, the princess was called by one person “an inspiration to all her patients,” and the royal family “has written an extraordinary number of letters this year.
Meanwhile, another fan wrote to “Hello! to Kate, telling her, “We are all rooting for you, please never forget that.” The princess replied, “Thank you, that's very sweet, it's nice to meet you.”
