Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco celebrate their first post-engagement Christmas with a cool party
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco celebrated their first holiday season as an engaged couple with the coolest party. The newly engaged couple spent December 25 (the first day of Hanukkah, which falls on Christmas this year) at prolific composer Benji Pasek's annual party in New York City.
In an Instagram shot by renowned New York chef and best-selling cookbook author Jake Cohen, Gomez can be seen alongside a swing, adorned with a cozy silver snowflake pajama set. [New York celebrities like Judy Gold, Debra Messing, Alex Edelman, Erin Ritchie, and Adam Kanter (among many others) can be seen in videos and photos from the party. In one video, Debra Messing recites a silly holiday story written by Emmy Award-winning comedian Edelman.
Nicholas Britell, composer of the iconic Succession theme song, also added to the excitement by performing a slightly uptempo arrangement of this popular tune.
At one point, Edelman and Pasek sang a riff on Adam Sandler's classic “Chanukah Song,” changing the lyrics to “There are many Jews in showbiz-Selena Gomez is not Jewish, but her fiancé is!” After saying this, Cohen panned the camera to show the loving couple on the couch.
Now, I may not be Jewish, but I am extremely jealous of this party and the delicious food everyone enjoyed. Who wouldn't think so after seeing these pictures?
(If anyone reading this knows Benji Pasek, feel free to tell him that there is a good chance I will be invited next year - my DM is open. I've been in Fiddler on the Roof at least three times, and I can prove my mettle by singing holiday songs and Broadway classics with gusto)
