Beyonce's NFL Christmas Halftime Show Outfit: Dazzling White Bodysuit and Matching Chaps

Months of promos for Cowboy Carter in Levi's jeans, cowboy boots, and a 100-gallon hat came to fruition in this way: the NFL Christmas halftime show that Beyonce performed at the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game and the stunning avant-cowgirl outfit she wore for the occasion.

For the “Texas Hold 'Em” singer's first opportunity to perform songs from her genre-defying album live, stylist Siona Turini had Beyoncé wear an item that had the whole country going “Yee-haw!” and dressed her in items that would make the whole country say, “Yee-haw!

Beyoncé first rode into NRG Stadium on a white horse while singing “16 Carriages” and “Blackbird,” matching the noble horse's white hair with a snowy feather coat and white hat. The coat was draped with a red, white, and blue cowboy-carter sash and miles of diamonds around his neck.

As Beyonce strutted onto the field, she removed her feather coat to reveal a Roberto Cavalli studded white long-sleeved bodysuit and matching fringed chaps. Both items were adorned with meters of Western-patterned rhinestones on the sides and front, accented by an equally glittery Cowboy Carter rhinestone belt. Jeffrey Campbell cowboy boots completed her look.

The singer's dancers, band, and entire cast of surprise guests were also dressed in crystal-studded snowflake white dresses. Daughter Blue Ivy danced in white flared pants and a tank top, while Post Malone joined “Levy's Jeans” in a white blazer and denim. Tierra Kennedy, Tanner Adele, Brittney Spencer, and Rayna Roberts also harmonized with Queen Bey at the beginning of the set, wearing coordinating white Dolce & Gabbana hats and white corsets.

Beyoncé teased her twist on Americana styling in several Netflix spots leading up to her December 25 performance. In an ad released on Christmas Eve, she wore a glittery silver bustier and played the banjo with a red, white, and blue floral cape wrapped around her shoulders. The trailer for the weeks leading up to her performance also included an Ice Princess meets Horse Girl look by Atelier Visor, featuring a white coat and matching snow white hat. (This white look is, in hindsight, the clearest reference to her halftime show outfit)

Since the release of Cowboy Carter (technically, the second act of her renaissance musical) last March, Beyoncé and Turini have incorporated high-fashion upgrades to cowgirl essentials into her wardrobe. Aside from the molten gold Balmain gown she wore to the premiere of Mufasa, Beyoncé has treated surprise appearances and Instagram “fit checks” as opportunities to bring out her ten-gallon hat and studded leather pieces. iHeartRadio Music Her striking look at the awards was a vintage Versace set with a sprinkling of Coyote Ugly energy. She also brought her yee-haw agenda to life with the help of designers such as Sergio Hudson, Ferragamo, and Robert Cavalli of Vintage.

Now that her Christmas performance is in the rearview mirror of her Cadillac, Beyonce can turn her attention to her next highly anticipated event.
