Khloe Kardashian's reasons for missing the Christmas Eve party were very sympathetic.

Caring for a sick child is no joke, even if you are one of the most famous people on the planet.

For the first time in years, Khloe Kardashian missed the annual Kerr-Jenner Christmas Eve party. The reality star revealed on Instagram that she was home nursing her two children, True and Tatum, because they were sick.

“Tatum has been sick all weekend and now my Tutu is sick,” Kardashian wrote on her Instagram Story (via Page Six). “For the first time in a long, long time we will miss Christmas Eve 🥹.” Kardashian added that she feels “so terrible” that her children will have to miss the party.

Still, the parties that Khloe and the kids missed were not as elaborate as Kardashian's Christmas Eve parties in the past. This year, they opted for a (at least relatively) low-key celebration at home, complete with card games, LEGOs, and a gorgeously wrapped bottle of Kendall Jenner's 818 tequila.

Earlier this month, Kim Kardashian explained to Vogue that the family's Christmas Eve party would be more “intimate” this year, as there is “a lot of construction going on” that makes hosting a large party difficult.

But despite the lack of large parties, the Kardashian siblings are finding festivity in their own ways this season. Kourtney had a sexy photo shoot with Travis Barker, and Kim recreated the cover of Paper magazine in a sexy red dress.
